The 11th Annual Walk Across Williamson event encourages increased physical activity by getting at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. During the month of March, the community is encouraged to "walk the distance across Williamson County - about 90 miles". At the end of the event, a family celebration event is held to celebrate our community's health. A FREE 5K trail run and 1 mile fun run/walk is sponsored for the community at Franklin's historic Harlinsdale Farm.
The Celebration event is held at Franklin's historic: "Park at Harlinsdale Farm" with the races beginning and ending in the Tractor Supply Arena, courtesy of Friends of Franklin Parks.
In addition to the races a
Family Fun Zone will be set up featuring businesses and organizations from around the county who will be bringing loads of activities and games for the entire family.
Great give aways will be available to everyone visits the fun zone.
Fun zones activities include games, Face Painting, and much more!
Representatives from local military and public safety agencies will be present to give kids an up close and personal view of fire engines, ladder trucks, police cars, ambulances and other public safety vehicles.
The
FREE 5K trail run will take runners through the rolling landscape of the historic farm. Beginning in the Tractor Supply arena, runners will tour the entire farm on their route. Through sprawling fields and paddocks and around the lake and through the woods before come back around and ending back in the arena.
The 1 mile fun run/walk will also begin in the Tractor Supply arena and take participants around the farm and the farm's dog park before coming back and ending in the arena.
1 mile fun run will begin at 2:00PM with the 5K races to follow.Pre-registration/packet pick up:
Friday: April 12, 2019 from 3pm until 6pm at the Williamson County Health Department-Franklin
Saturday: April 13, 2019 from 11am until 2pm at the Williamson County Health Department-Franklin
EVERY participant who registers before Friday, March 22 at midnight will be guaranteed a free 2019 11th Annual Walk Across Williamson T-Shirt!
